Necchi BU Nova in Modified Kenmore (White) SitStrate Treadle Cabinet
I'm a huge fan of Necchi sewing machines, and this BU Nova started that love affair. It sewed so smoothly and strongly that I just had to try it in a treadle cabinet. This cabinet was made for Kenmore by White, and is their "SitStrate" style. Note the treadle is off-center in the base, but centered under the needle, for more comfortable treadling. "Ergonomic" design way back then!

We bought this cabinet from some folks who thought it could be a funky bathroom sink... they didn't quite pull it off. So we pulled off their mess, and built a new top for it.

Ever the decorator... the red treadle belt is a nice touch, eh?

And a view from the other side. As you can see, I left the motor on the machine, as well as the power cord, so this machine can be switched to an electric-powered machine simply by replacing the treadle belt with a motor belt.

This machine is going back into its original electric cabinet... time for the treadle cabinet to find a new home.
